In 1997 Dr. Mamedov received his PhD degree in the National Research Center for Preventive Medicine of the Ministry of Healthcare of the Russian Federation for research titled "Metabolic syndrome components in patients with arterial hypertension". In 2001 he wrote his doctoral thesis on "Clinical and biochemical features of metabolic syndrome and its pharmacological management". He has been working in the National Medical Research Center for Therapy and Preventive Medicine for 26 years, beginning as a researcher and eventually becoming the head of the scientific laboratory. He is the author of 400 scientific works, 16 monographies in Russian, 4 monographies in English and 3 patents.

He is one of the founders of the International Forum of Cardiology and Internal Medicine, which has been held annually at the Russian Academy of Sciences since 2012. Dr. Boukhris is an interventional cardiologist specialized in complex high-risk (CHIP) PCI and strucutural interventions. After obtaining his MD degree and specialist diploma in Cardiology at the Faculty of Medicine of Tunis, University of Tunis El Manar (Tunisia), he pursued further training with a fellowship in Interventional Cardiology at Cannizzaro Hospital, University of Catania (Italy) under the supervision of Prof Alfredo R. Galassi (founder member and past president of the EuroCTO Club).

In his practice Dr Boukhris performs coronary interventions including left main stenting, complex bifurcation stenting, bypass graft PCI, antegrade CTO PCI, intravascular imaging (IVUS, OCT), FFR, rotational atherectomy, in addition to structural interventions including TAVR, and percutaneous closure of PFO, ASD and LAAD.

Dr. Messerli completed his post-graduate training in internal medicine and cardiology at the University of Bern. Prof. François Mach (h index >50), born in 1961, is an expert in the field of cardiology, in particular with regard to the development and progression of atherosclerosis diseases. After obtaining his MD at the University of Geneva, Switzerland, he studied internal medicine and cardiology at Geneva University Hospital. He then went on to complete a post-doctoral fellowship in the laboratory of Prof. Peter Libby, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Boston (1995-1999).
